Pre+Post Tan Care Tips

Before Your Tan

Shaving / waxing

Wax 1–2 days before your spray tan or shave the day before your appointment. Do not wax or shave on the day of your appointment, as this can prevent the solution from adhering properly. Avoid shaving or waxing after your spray tan, as this will remove the tan.

Exfoliate

Exfoliate 1–2 days before your appointment. we recommend to use a exfoliating mitt, to gently remove dead skin and create a smooth, even base for your spray tan. Avoid scrubs containing oils or heavy moisturizers, as they can leave residue on the skin. Proper exfoliation helps prevent patchiness and ensures longer-lasting, even colour.

shower

Shower a minimum of 8-12 hours before your spray tan appointment. Avoid oil-based or creamy body washes, as they can prevent the solution from adhering properly. Its best to wash your hair prior to your spray tan rinse as conditioner/ shampoo can ruin a developing tan.

Do not apply any lotions, creams, makeup, or deodorant after showering. Skin should be clean, dry, and free of all barriers for best results!

what to wear to my appointment

Wear loose, dark clothing after your appointment. Wear items like t-shirts, oversized tops, and flip-flops. Avoid tight clothing like denim, leggings, yoga pants, and bras, as they can rub and disrupt your fresh tan.

Nails, hair + other services

Complete all other beauty services before your spray tan. Schedule waxing, manicures, pedicures, facials, lashes, massages, hair appointments and laser treatments in advance. Services performed after your appointment may remove, fade, affect your tan.

When to book your spray tan

Book your spray tan 1- 2 days before your event. This allows time for full development and ensures your tan looks even, natural, and glowing on the day of your event.

Post Tan Aftercare + Maintenance

Moisturize + Keep hydrated

Keep your skin hydrated. Drinking plenty of water and moisturizing daily helps maintain your spray tan and keeps your glow looking smooth and even. Avoid mineral oils and heavy, oily creams or body butters. These can create a barrier on the skin and cause your spray tan to fade faster.

Choose products that are gentle, sulfate‑free, and hydrate without stripping your colour.

Avoid Exfoliating

Avoid exfoliating your skin. This includes body scrubs as well as facial exfoliants containing acids or retinol, as they can cause your spray tan to fade unevenly.

Limit swimming / Avoid hot tubs

While being in the water is amazing, avoid prolonged exposure to water. Limit time in chlorinated pools or seawater, as these can cause your spray tan to fade, minimize hot showers.

AVOID HOT TUBS - Being in a hot tub can cause your spray tan to be removed completely.

No dove products

Avoid Dove products. Dove body washes, soaps, and lotions and deodorants contain ingredients that can create a silicone barrier on the skin that will cause your spray tan fade faster or develop unevenly.
